Overview .
Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnotherapy is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. When you're under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed, and are more open to suggestions.
Hypnotherapy has been used for thousands of years as a safe, non intrusive approach to healing. From ancient Sanskrit texts and Egyptian healing rooms all the way through the Franz Anton Mesmer and James Braid hypnosis has played a major role in connecting the human mind with the body to enable change and self healing to occur.
We now live in a time of FMRI (Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scans where science can finally observe the mind of a human in hypnosis we can start to understand what happens to the neuro activity in the brain during hypnosis. Science is now supporting what ancient healers knew all along that the mind can heal the body and finally hypnosis is beginning to play its part in western medical approaches.
Hypnosis is state of intensified attention while being in a paradoxically relaxed and meditative state. In this state suggestions can take effect in the unconscious mind which creates incredibly fast changes within the client.

What can you expect?
Phil will spend time explaining hypnosis and making sure you’re fully aware of the process, the session will be as much about education as therapy.
During the session you can expect to feel very relaxed with an elevated level of attention, your senses are heightened so unlike common misperception you are not asleep during the session. Many conditions can be successfully reduced with only one session and often improvements can begin quickly.
Hypnosis can also be utilised to help with nerves and anxiety with specific situations like exam stress or presentation nerves.

Results
Hypnosis is now regarded as one of the safest and most non intrusive approaches with many modern conditions. Phil has worked successfully with a huge number of clients to help them overcome a variety of challenges. Added to this often the sessions can be conducted ‘content free’ which means the client is often nescient of the cause at a conscious level.
